FTM Top Surgery Las Vegas

Are you ready to be free of female breasts that interfere with your ability to confidently dress, live, and be treated as the person you really are?

Las Vegas cosmetic surgeon Dr. Pancholi prides himself on helping transgender men and non-binary patients achieve the aesthetically pleasing chest contours they desire with compassionate care and a commitment to safety and privacy.

What to look for in FTM top surgery surgeons: experience, training, & technique

FTM top surgery requires specialized training and experience to perform safely and achieve an aesthetically pleasing, natural-looking result. Not every cosmetic surgeon receives training in transgender procedures, which are uniquely complex and demands a surgical skill level above and beyond traditional plastic surgery.

You’ll want to choose a cosmetic surgeon with extensive training and experience in FTM chest contouring who has a keen artistic skill and a reputation for meeting or exceeding patient expectations.

A diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Pancholi has performed thousands of breast and chest contouring procedures for patients of all ages, gender identities, and ethnicities. Additionally, he is one of Vegas’s most sought-after specialists in VASER liposelection, a hi-definition liposuction technique that allows him to sculpt the chest and body in great detail and create the subtle lines of the pectoral area that is characteristic of a masculine chest.

“When we see a patient that is interested in female-to-male transformation or gender-confirming surgery, it is something where we really want to find out what their goals are. Some people want to have a flat chest with nothing else. Other people are completely concerned with the scars. Some want to look extremely masculine, while others do not want those types of indicators. So, one of the things that we want to do is to make sure that we hear them and we’re doing what they want. All of those are possibilities, but really, what our goal is, is to deliver the right thing for the right person.

Male-to-female gender-confirming surgery is also a very rewarding procedure for both our patients and myself. We use a very similar type of approach as far as finding out what the patient wants, whether it’s implants or fat grafting. We also want to look at size and their overall goals in the procedure. One of the things that we find is every person is different, and every person has something different in what their goals are. Stereotypes are out the window, and this is a very personalized matter that we want to make sure that we achieve the right goal for them.”–Dr. Samir Pancholi

Options for FTM breast removal in Las Vegas

Dr. Pancholi will personalize your chest surgery to achieve a result that looks naturally masculine with your unique anatomy. He is experienced in a number of techniques for FTM top surgery, including:

  • Keyhole incision: suitable for removing small natural breasts and limits scarring to the outer areola edge
  • Inverted-T or anchor FTM incision: this technique can remove larger breasts and excess skin and reshape the chest without a nipple graft.
  • Double incision technique: achieves a flat chest for patients with large or very large breasts; places the scar along the natural border of the lower pectorals.
  • VASER liposelection. For patients with small breasts and good skin contraction, Dr. Pancholi can often remove breast tissue and create a masculine chest with liposuction alone. He can also use VASER to enhance results of top surgery by removing bra rolls, improving definition of the pecs, or sculpting a masculine shape to the entire torso.
FTM top surgery options

Am I ready for female to male top surgery?

The best candidates for FTM top surgery are individuals who are at least 18 years old, in good overall health, and fully committed to their transformation. It’s also important to have realistic expectations. While Dr. Pancholi takes care to minimize incisions, some scarring may be visible when you go bare-chested. Additionally, it is likely that you will lose some or all nipple sensation after the procedure, depending on the technique needed to complete your procedure.

Tell Dr. Pancholi if you are currently taking hormones or plan to in the future. Male hormones will often change the size and shape of the existing breasts and may affect what surgical approach is most appropriate for you. Additionally, it is essential to disclose all hormones and other medications you are taking. For your safety, you may be required to stop hormone therapy temporarily before and after surgery.

  • Bilateral Mastectomy: A surgical procedure involving the removal of both breasts, often used in FTM top surgery to remove breast tissue.
  • Chest Contouring: A surgical technique used in FTM top surgery to create a more masculinized chest appearance.

  • FTM Top Surgery: A gender-affirming surgery for transgender men and non-binary individuals to remove breast tissue and create a masculine chest.
  • Gender Dysphoria: The psychological distress that results from a discrepancy between a person’s gender identity and their sex assigned at birth.
  • Gender-Affirming Surgery: Surgical procedures that alter a person’s physical appearance to be more congruent with their gender identity. In the context of FTM top surgery, it refers to surgeries that masculinize the chest.
  • Hormone Therapy: The use of hormones (testosterone) to induce physical changes that align with a transgender person’s gender identity.

  • Testosterone Therapy: Hormone therapy using testosterone to develop male secondary sex characteristics in transgender men.
  • Transgender: An umbrella term for individuals whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth.

How is female to male chest surgery performed?

Dr. Pancholi performs FTM top surgery as an outpatient procedure at accredited surgery centers in Las Vegas. Your anesthesia will be administered by a board certified anesthesiology provider. Through one or more incisions in the natural contours of each breast, he will remove excess breast tissue, fat, and skin, and relocate the nipple/areola into a more natural position. Following surgery, you will go home wearing a compression garment, which you will be required to wear for several weeks, except when showering.

How long is the FTM  top surgery recovery time?

Most patients can return to desk jobs in about 2 weeks and gradually resume exercise about 4 to 6 weeks after surgery.

If you are having a more extensive chest reconstruction, you may have surgical drains for the first week or so of your recovery. Dr. Pancholi will provide complete instructions for aftercare; it is important to follow these closely to avoid complications and ensure your results heal optimally.

Post-operative swelling and some degree of asymmetry are normal for the first several months as the chest heals. While most patients feel comfortable showing their chest a couple of months after surgery, it can take 6 to 12 months for residual swelling to completely disappear and for scars to fade significantly.

Las Vegas cosmetic surgeon Dr. Samir Pancholi

As a fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon and a specialist in gender affirming breast and chest contouring, Dr. Samir Pancholi has helped hundreds of patients in Las Vegas on their gender confirmation journey. He is known for his precision, artistry, and attention to detail.
