Rhinoplasty (Nose Job) Las Vegas

An ideal nose looks natural, proportional, and balances your face. Many times, small refinements can return balance and harmony to the face resulting in a profoundly positive effect on self-confidence and appearance.

Dr. Pancholi will discuss with you the various parts of your nose and how it relates to your face overall. Many will have concerns with a hump or large bridge, the tip being too big, wide, high up, or drooping. With others, it can be with the nostrils looking flared or hanging low. With the use of computer imaging, he’ll be able to show you what you can realistically expect with rhinoplasty surgery and how this popular nose reshaping procedure can help achieve the best result and balance.

  • Corrected Breathing Issues: Rhinoplasty can correct structural abnormalities in the nose that impede breathing, such as a deviated septum.
  • Refined Nasal Symmetry: The procedure can correct asymmetrical nasal features, leading to a more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing nose.
  • Repaired Damage from Injury: Rhinoplasty can repair the nose’s shape and function following injury or trauma.
  • Corrected Congenital Deformities: For those born with nasal deformities, rhinoplasty can provide significant functional and aesthetic improvements.
  • Enhanced Facial Proportions: The surgery can bring the nose into better proportion with other facial features, improving overall facial aesthetics.
  • Subtle or Dramatic Changes: Rhinoplasty can offer both subtle refinements and dramatic changes, depending on the individual’s goals and needs.
  • Improved Nasal Functionality: Besides improving the nose’s appearance, rhinoplasty can enhance its function, improving breathing and nasal airflow.
  • Long-Lasting Results: The outcomes of rhinoplasty are typically long-lasting, providing a permanent solution to aesthetic or functional nasal concerns.
  • Alar Base Reduction: A surgical technique in rhinoplasty to narrow the width of the nostrils.
  • Anesthesia: Medications used to prevent pain during surgery, which can be either general (inducing unconsciousness) or local (numbing a specific area).
  • Bridge: The upper part of the nose between the eyes. Rhinoplasty can alter the bridge’s shape by removing a hump or changing its width.
  • Bulbous Tip: Refers to a rounded or excessively full nasal tip. Rhinoplasty can reshape a bulbous tip to create a more refined appearance.
  • Cartilage: Flexible connective tissue found in the nose, which is often reshaped during rhinoplasty to alter the nose’s structure and appearance.
  • Columella: The tissue that separates the nostrils at the base of the nose, often modified during rhinoplasty for cosmetic or functional reasons.
  • Deviated Septum: A condition where the nasal septum, the bone and cartilage dividing the nasal cavity, is off-center or crooked, sometimes corrected during rhinoplasty.
  • Dorsal Hump Reduction: The process of removing or reducing a bump on the bridge of the nose during rhinoplasty.
  • Functional Rhinoplasty: A type of rhinoplasty aimed at improving nasal function, such as correcting breathing issues, rather than solely focusing on aesthetics.
  • Nasal Tip: The end part of the nose. Rhinoplasty can modify the nasal tip’s size, shape, or angle for both aesthetic and functional purposes.
  • Nasal Tip Surgery: Rhinoplasty techniques focused on reshaping the tip of the nose, which can include refining, lifting, or reducing the nasal tip.
  • Open Rhinoplasty: A type of rhinoplasty where incisions are made across the columella, providing greater access to nasal structures.
  • Osteotomy: A surgical procedure in rhinoplasty involving the cutting of nasal bones to change the shape or width of the nose.
  • Primary Rhinoplasty: The first cosmetic or functional nasal surgery performed on a patient.
  • Revision Rhinoplasty: A secondary procedure performed to correct or improve the results of a previous rhinoplasty.
  • Rhinoplasty: A surgical procedure to change the shape, size, or proportions of the nose, also known as a “nose job.”
  • Septoplasty: A surgical procedure often performed with rhinoplasty to straighten a deviated septum.
  • Swelling: A common postoperative symptom in rhinoplasty, where the nose and surrounding areas may swell as part of the healing process.

Your Las Vegas rhinoplasty procedure with Dr. Pancholi

The incisions used for rhinoplasty are well hidden, with the only outside incision being on the undersurface of the nose between the nostrils (columella). These incisions provide an entry point for Dr. Pancholi to raise the tissues covering the nose and allow him optimal access to refine the delicate underlying structures.

Here, Dr. Pancholi will employ various techniques to reshape the nose by trimming, shaving, and contouring the cartilage and bone. The nose is then refined further with precise placement of delicate, hair-thin sutures and structurally reinforced by grafting cartilage to help maintain the new shape over time. Dr. Pancholi continuously evaluates the nose and nostrils throughout the procedure to make sure there is harmony between them.

You will be able to go home a few hours after your nose surgery

After completing the nose reshaping, a thin tape and splint are placed on your nose to protect it. From here, you are in charge of taking care to not bump or sleep on your nose while this delicate structure heals, gains strength, and returns to a stronger, more normal state. Swelling is expected and will be dramatic for the first 7 to 10 days. You will see steady changes and improvements over the next 3 to 6 months as the swelling continues to disappear and reveal the nose. Changes should be expected for a minimum of a year.

Operation time for rhinoplasty is around two hours and is performed in a fully accredited surgery center. Dr. Pancholi only works with board certified MD anesthesiologists for all cosmetic surgeries.

What can I expect to look like during recovery?

Most patients will experience some swelling and bruising around the eyes after nose surgery. Most bruising will fade in the first 7 to 10 days, can persist for several weeks. Most people who don’t know you won’t notice much swelling after about 10 to 14 days. Those that do know you well may be able to pick up on it for about 4 weeks.

When will I be able to return to work?

Depending on your activity level at work, most people with desk jobs can return to work in about a week. If your job is more physically demanding, you will probably need to wait 2½ to 3 weeks after your rhinoplasty surgery before resuming your normal tasks. Dr. Pancholi will see you frequently for post-op follow up visits and will let you know when it’s okay for you to return to more strenuous exercise.

Not quite ready for surgery? Consider a “liquid nose job.”

Dr. Pancholi is also highly skilled in non-surgical rhinoplasty (also known as a liquid nose job) using injectable dermal fillers to enhance the shape of the nose. If you are not quite ready for surgical rhinoplasty, this can be a good temporary option to improve your nose shape at a fraction of the cost of surgery.
