Laser Hair Removal Las Vegas
Say “so long” to unwanted hair
Hair on the face and body may serve an evolutionary purpose, but sometimes it’s just frustrating—and unwanted body hair can even impact your personal comfort and confidence. The market is flooded with a large number of hair removal devices and depilatory products, but waxing, shaving, tweezing, and using harsh chemicals can become tedious and even painful.
That’s why laser hair removal with our state-of-the-art diode laser is an increasingly popular option for long-lasting results. Suitable for most skin types—even darker or tanned skin—our laser platform allows for safe, effective treatments that can help you enjoy smoother skin and a life free from the nuisance of unwanted hair.
How laser hair removal works
The problem with short-term hair removal methods like shaving and waxing is that they have no real effect on the hair follicle. They get rid of the existing hair, but in a few weeks a new one grows back to take its place—and the cycle continues. Laser hair removal can help to break that cycle by damaging the hair follicle, which disrupts the hair growth cycle and prevents new hair from growing back in the treated area. Laser hair removal can be used nearly anywhere on the body where you want to get rid of unwanted hair, including:
- Face and upper lip
- Bikini area
- Legs & arms
- Back & chest
What to expect during laser hair removal treatment
During treatment, our aesthetician applies the laser wand to the skin in the area where you want to get rid of hair. The relatively wide 810-diode laser diameter and rapid succession of laser pulses deliver optimal laser energy to impair the hair follicle during a relatively short treatment time. The sensation experienced can be compared to a brief “snap” or sting as the laser is applied. Most patients find this tolerable, if a little uncomfortable, but we will apply a cooling gel immediately after treatment to soothe the area. Total treatment time can take 15 to 45 minutes or more, depending on the size of the treatment area.
Getting the most of out of laser hair removal
The hair follicle needs to be in the active growth phase of the cycle for the laser to work. Since different hair follicles in an area are in the growth phase at different times, laser hair removal is typically performed in a series of treatments, spaced a few weeks apart, to produce the most thorough reduction of hair in an area. The exact number of treatments you may need depends on the thickness and density of the hair, the size and location of the area being treated, and your personal goals and anatomy. Typically, about 4 to 8 treatments are the norm.
Following each treatment in a series, you will notice less hair growing back in an area, and the hair that does regrow is often finer and softer than before. When you have completed the desired number of treatments, skin will be smoother and free of unwanted hair. While certain things may make hair grow back in an area eventually, including certain medications, hormone fluctuations, or other conditions, the typical patient enjoys many years of hair-free skin.
