Restylane

Restylane is a dermal filler composed of hyaluronic acid gel. Like most products of its kind, Restylane is injected into the lips or skin to restore volume, enhance certain features, or both.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural hydrator and volumizing agent that exists in the body. Over time, the body's supply of it diminishes - a process that is often accelerated by environmental or genetic factors.

When this occurs, signs of aging start to emerge in the skin. Wrinkles, folds, and lack of facial prominence or volume all can subtract from a person's youthful appeal.

With a simple injection, Restylane restores what has been lost and closely resembles the natural hyaluronic acid found in the body. The effects of Restylane are long lasting but temporary.

Restylane can treat a wide variety of facial imperfections, including:
  • Glabellar lines (forehead)
  • Smile lines or nasolabial folds
  • Periorbital lines
  • Worry lines in the forehead
What is a Restylane treatment like?
First, the injection area is cleansed thoroughly. Restylane is injected beneath the skin wherever necessary or desired, and then a gentle massaging might be needed in the area of injection. A Restylane treatment only takes about 30 minutes.

The results will be noticeable and they may be slightly fuller than expected and mild bruising can occur. However, most patients return to their normal routine and the post-procedure effects will quickly diminish. The positive effects of Restylane can last as long as a year.
