Juvederm
What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a dermal filler composed of hyaluronic acid gel. The intended use of the product is to temporarily enhance lips, restore facial volume, and reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, folds and other visible signs of aging.
To precisely meet the needs of each individual patient, Juvederm is available in two formulas: Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus, with the latter formula made for deeper wrinkles or folds.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical in the body that gives volume to the skin and hydrates the tissue. Over the course of time, the body's supply of hyaluronic acid gets more and more depleted, leading to conditions like wrinkles or a sunken, hollow appearance. The injection of Juvederm can work to correct these signs of aging and restore facial volume.
In 2006, the United States FDA approved Juvederm for treating mild to moderate facial creases. Anyone concerned about facial wrinkles, lines and folds should consider using Juvederm. There are a number of related conditions that Juvederm can treat, but patients should seek a consultation with Dr. Pancholi to discuss possible alternatives.
A thorough consultation is necessary for Dr. Pancholi to understand the expectations, desires and your needs.
During the procedure, Juvederm is placed beneath the skin and sometimes massaged into place. The entire process may be as brief as 30 minutes. Afterward, you might experience some mild swelling but should be able to return to their normal routine with a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance.
