Non-Surgical
Dysport
Dysport is a neuromuscular wrinkle blocker brought to the market by pharmaceutical companies Medicis and Ipsen. While the drug has been used in Europe since the 1990s, the United States market has been largely dominated by the similar, but more popular Botox Cosmetic.
Cosmetic Surgery of Las Vegas is the first practice to offer Dysport in the area, and we're expecting great results.
The muscles in your forehead and other areas of the face contract frequently, making your skin fold and wrinkle. When these contractions are combined with the breakdown of collagen and skin elasticity, there we find the recipe for noticeable facial wrinkles and folds. With a very fine needle, Dysport gets injected into those tiny facial muscles that contract to achieve a 'paralysis' or relaxation of those specific sites.
Treatment with Dysport not only reduces existing wrinkles and prevents them from worsening, if used regularly it prevents wrinkles from forming in the first place. Cosmetic indications for use of Dysport include glabellar lines or forehead wrinkles. Other popular uses may include eye wrinkles (crow's feet) and frown lines between the brows.
Although the injections are basically pain-free, a numbing agent can be applied if you desire. Facial muscles relax gradually, so the results may take a few days to notice.
