Breast Lift Las Vegas

Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, can enhance your appearance and self-confidence. As time passes, pregnancy, nursing, weight loss or gain, and gravity can change the look of your breasts. Most women are concerned with a loss of elasticity, fullness, and shape. If you feel this way, rest assured you are not alone.

During a breast lift, Las Vegas cosmetic surgeon Dr. Samir Pancholi reshapes, tightens, and removes the sagging breast tissue and loose skin to help you regain a firmer and perkier appearance. This alone can help get your self-confidence back along with the body that you once had, or always wanted.

Is breast lift surgery right for me?

If your nipple falls below your inframammary fold, then you may be a good candidate for breast lift surgery.

Do I need a breast lift?

The best breast lift candidates are healthy women who don’t smoke and have realistic expectations. Our goal is to maximize your results, physically and emotionally. Although you may feel a mastopexy procedure can enhance your appearance and self-confidence, it’s important to remember that no one is perfect and many women choose to have this done. You are not alone.

For many mastopexy patients, particularly post-pregnancy, having breast implants placed during a breast lift gives the best result, as the implants can give more cleavage and fullness to the top of the breast. It’s a personal decision and all depends on the look you want.

It is important to understand that a breast lift is not permanent. Time, weight loss or gain, pregnancy, changes in skin elasticity, aging, and the weight of your breast tissue or implants will naturally take their toll. However, the benefits prove to be worth it to improve breast shape for years following a mastopexy procedure. It’s a choice many women feel has improved their emotional well being as well as their physical appearance.

“So when it comes time to pick, should I get breast implants, should I get breast implants and a lift, or should I just get a lift? The biggest part of this is realizing they’re doing two different things.

Breast implants give us volume. So if you want more upper fullness in your breast, then you need an implant. You need something to push that area out.

If, on the other hand, your breasts are lower, we need to do a breast lift or a mastopexy. What that does is it actually goes and raises the breast tissue up and puts it higher. If you add an implant to that, it becomes higher, and now you’ve got fullness up there as well. So one is repositioning higher, and the other is giving fullness to the breast.”–Dr. Samir Pancholi

Dr. Pancholi’s breast lift techniques

During your breast lift consultation, Dr. Pancholi will recommend one of the following types of breast lifts. Which one depends on the degree of sagging you are experiencing now, which in turn determines how much skin needs to be removed.

Peri Areolar (Benelli) Lift – Best breast lift procedure for minimal breast sagging

The Peri-Areolar lift, also called a Benelli lift, is used when minimal lifting is required. The lift and scar are focused around the areola. The lift is performed by removing a customized amount of breast tissue along the outside of the areola. This allows the areola and breast tissue to rotate upwards and create a lifted appearance. The tissue is then discreetly stitched back together.

The benefits of this breast lift technique are that it leaves minimal scarring and results in fairly evenly sized, shaped, and positioned areolas. The cons are that the breast may appear flatter and the areola may enlarge over time. This type of lift works well for women with very conical breasts or those who require minimal breast lifting.

Vertical (Lollipop) Lift – Best breast lift procedure for moderate breast sagging

The Vertical lift (Lollipop lift) allows for narrowing of the wide breast and has more lifting power than a peri-areolar lift. It starts out similar to the peri-areolar lift by focusing around the areola. Next attention is directed to sagging tissue below the areola. A customized amount of tissue is removed from this area to dramatically lift and improve the shape of the breast. The tissue is then discretely stitched back together with a final scar around the areola and one extending from the bottom of the areola towards the inframammary fold.

The benefits of this breast lift technique are similar to the peri-areolar lift with added benefits of greater lifting, improved shape, and less flattening. The con is the vertical scar. Overall, scars on the breast heal well and with proper care, the results are very nice. This is a commonly performed lift and great for women that have too much drooping for the peri-areolar lift, but not enough for the full Inverted T lift.

Inverted T (Full) Lift – For maximum breast lifting and reshaping

The Inverted T lift (Full Lift) allows for the maximum amount of lifting and customized shaping. Here your breasts are truly custom made as Dr. Pancholi is able to maximize your breast shape and size to its fullest extent. This lift is performed as the vertical lift but also addresses the inframammary fold. This extra point of attention places a scar in the inframammary fold, the same area many women have a scar from breast implant placement.

Candidates for this lift typically include women who have breast drooping that will not be addressed well with a peri-areolar or vertical lift. The con of this breast lift technique is the additional scar. The benefits are that it maximizes the potential of your overall breast shape and position to its fullest extent.

Breast lift results

You can expect to see significant results immediately following your breast lift surgery. Over time, the look of your breasts will continue to improve as the swelling goes down and the incision lines start to fade. While weight loss or gain, changes in skin elasticity, aging, and the natural weight of your breast tissue will eventually take their toll on your breast lift results, your results will last longer if you follow a healthy lifestyle and maintain your weight.

“When we do a breast lift, that’s actually much easier to recover from than an actual breast augmentation. And why is that? We haven’t stretched your muscle out. Stretching your muscle out with an implant is what tends to cause the discomfort.

Now, if you go and you get a mastopexy with an implant, we go right back to the recovery period that we talked about with breast augmentation. But alone, a mastopexy tends to recover a little bit quicker.

One of the things with surgery in general is that we really don’t want you to get your heart rate up or your blood pressure up for the first couple of weeks after surgery. And that’s mostly so we can let the tissues heal, the swelling go down, and the blood circulation to come back to life the way we want it to be.”–Dr. Samir Pancholi

Will my breasts need an implant?

Breast lifts can be performed with or without the use of breast implants, depending on your goals and breast anatomy. Patients who need a little lift and reshaping will likely be satisfied with just a breast lift. Patients looking for more volume as well as improved shape will often choose a breast lift with implants.

How do I fade the scars on my breasts?

It is recommended that you wait at least a year after your breast augmentation or breast lift procedure for the scar to lighten and fade. If you are still unsatisfied with the appearance of your scars after they have matured, there are scar revision procedures that can effectively lessen the appearance of scars.

If you have a hypertrophic scar or keloid scar, different medications can be injected directly into the scar to help soften and smooth it out. Silicone tape and creams can also improve the overall appearance. If the scar is dark red, scar creams that contain vitamin E, hydroquinone, kojic acid, and other effective healing ingredients can help it fade over time.
